Dear all, For an installation I try to pick out values i get from a openweathermap API (similar to this example: http://samples.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?lat=35&lon=139&appid=b6907d289e10d714a6e88b30761fae22 ) In max 6 or 7 its not a big deal – there is the [dict] object that makes it really easy (get::main etc.). In the older max5 version […]
Is there a way to project the output of a jit.window while still being able to control parameters inside max, I know i could use a midi controller and map each parameter to a button on that, but I am ideally looking for a way or bit of software that will allow me to just project the window so i can look at and alter the parameters of my max patch with a mous […]
I already posted to the arduino forum, but I haven't had many responses (if any) for past issues. So I thought it couldn't hurt to also post here. I've found that some solutions for arduinos do not result in useable data in Max anyways. I started with one ultrasonic sensor, connected to an arduino uno, and data sent to Max. It worked perfectly […]
So the 8 macros are not enough for me and I would like to make parameter banks for the pluggo devices by editing in maxforlive but I can't find a solution. I've read something about Automapping Index but I don't see that option in the inspector. I'm under 'All/Parameter' and the last option is 'Parameter Visibility: Automat […]
If need be I can pretty easily do this by hand in BBEdit, or possibly set up a script to handle it, but it'd be nice to be able to do it inside Max. Basically, I want to take a JSON preset file (call it 'File B' and let's say it has slots/IDs from 1-10) and then add it to another JSON preset file (call it 'File A' and it has, le […]
Hello, I can't get data from a Pozyx tag device using the serial object. The message syntax is unclear to me because it mixes char, hex and decimal data. This is the instructions to read data from registers in Pozyx reference (https://www.pozyx.io/Documentation/Datasheet/Interfaces#usb): USB can be used to read multiple data bytes in one sequence. The c […]
I've currently got a jit.gl.nurbs shape which is being controlled by noise with a jit.bfg basis function, however I want to be able to move the control points of the object my own data input, rather than by a random noise. Could anyone please suggest how to do about this?
Hello, I am trying to do features extraction from a polyphonic audio (not only piano) in MAX/MSP. I have found several objects that do that in MAX like fiddle (based on FFT, so it is not that accurate for frequencies under 200Hz, transcribe which is mainly for piano audio, fzero which is for monophonic audio analysis). Would the best option be to connect MAX […]
I've made a little patch that stutters audio in and out, with timing controlled by [tempo]. It takes lists in the form of [number of notes] [length of notes] and plays through them one at a time. As you can see if you hit the buttons, playing consecutive messages with the same note length works fine, but when you go from one note length to another then […]
Hello friends On my computer Max 8 (packaged with Live 10) is visible from the operating system (Sierra) and for some reason notoriously becomes default applications for all Max patches (so I need to "right-click"->"Open Width" on the file to open it with Max 7). Do you have any tips how to permanently prevent packaged copy of Max from […]

finally i got a used thinkpad t430 with an i5-3320m. it's in excellent condition, a friend tested it and i am receiving it tomorrow! my friend ran the DAWbench DSP 2017 test (reaper RXC) at 64 sample buffer, and it passed it without a glitch, the total cpu usage never reaching 50% and staying at relatively low temperatures. the test was done using a mot […]
I'm definitely gonna use the email alerts didn't notice until you said so. This is good news though, I will definitely inspect your solution + the deprecated commands replacement by Broc and Mazaika and see what i come up with. I'll reply back to this post if I manage to break new ground :) Thanks, Panos
Aaaaactually, I just tested it out in Ableton, and it sounds like the pops and clicks aren't actually being recorded; they only appear when I'm playing it. Why would I be getting pops and clicks only when the instrument is being played?
